The ebb and flow of the tide; sounds that emerge only to vanish once more.
<Wind of Tidal Flat> is a kind of 'invocation' or 'calling voice' (bu-reum-so-ri) generated solely by modulating field recordings captured on the tidal flats.
Using only the sounds gathered on-site as the entire material, this work is a performative practice of distorting time to unearth hidden narratives within the interstices. It is an attempt to listen to the whispers of a landscape that is constantly being erased and rewritten, transforming the raw environmental data into a sonic ritual that calls forth the memories embedded in the mud and the wind.
